When I was a kid, I was addicted to my video game system Nintendo. A free game cartridge came with the Nintendo—Super Mario Brothers.
The object of the game was for one of the Mario Brothers to race through the Mushroom Kingdom and save the princess. The game consisted of eight levels. In order for you to position yourself to save the princess, you’d have to make it to level eight.
But throughout the Mushroom Kingdom, there were pipes that would allow you to skip levels. So you could actually jump from level five to level eight, and thereby skip level six and level seven. It was a wonderful thing to be able to skip levels!
But the truth of the matter is, in this life, you can’t move to the next level until you master the level you’re on right now. There’s some stuff you need to learn on level six before you move on to level seven.
So be faithful on the level you’re on, because the level you’re on right now is preparing you for the level that God wants you to be on later. Learn the lessons on your current level, so that you’re equipped to excel on the next level.
