If you put food on a child’s plate—green beans, sweet potatoes, and baked chicken—you’re probably not going to put more food on the plate until he or she eats what’s already on the plate.
So don’t ask God for more sweet potatoes, when you haven’t touched the green beans or the chicken.
Eat what you already have before asking for seconds. Don’t ask God for more in the present, when you haven’t made the most of what God has given you in the past.
God has given you ideas, opportunities, dreams, and visions. Do something with those first, before asking God for something else. If you’re faithful over the little bit you already have, then God will bless you with a little bit more.
