One evening a few years ago, my daughter and I came to the church to drop off supplies in the pantry. We were the only ones in the building.
On the way out, she asked, “Daddy, are we going to leave without turning off the lights?”
She was referring to the hallway lights.
I answered, “Honey, those are emergency lights. They don’t turn off. They stay on . . . all the time.”
In a similar way, God is your Emergency Light. God doesn’t turn off. But God is on . . . all the time. God watches over you . . . all the time.
According to the songwriter in Psalm 121:4, the LORD “will neither slumber nor sleep.”
