When I was a kid, I used to watch the cartoon Plastic Man. And Plastic Man was a superhero who could transform his body into whatever he needed to be. He could become as solid as a rock, or as flexible as a rubber band. He could shrink himself to just a few inches tall, or stretch himself as tall as a skyscraper. He could become flat enough to slide under a door, and he could even increase his strength by seemingly adding more muscles.
Plastic Man could become whatever he needed to be to get the job done.
God is like Plastic Man--but better! God can be whatever you need God to be! God is your shelter in the storm, your bridge over troubled water, your light in the dark, and your umbrella in the rain. God is your doctor in the sick room, your lawyer in the courtroom, your food when you’re hungry, and your water when you’re thirsty.
God is like Plastic Man--but better!
