A few years ago, while I’m preaching one Sunday morning, I glance down and notice that my suit jacket is open.
Apparently, the button that held my jacket together had fallen off.
So later that week, I buy a new button, grab the needle and thread, and then sew it on. As I’m sewing on the button, I begin to think about the significance of the thread.
The thread that you can’t even see when I’m wearing the jacket plays an enormous role in holding the jacket together.
When it seems like your life is falling apart, God is the thread that holds you together.
