One of the gifts I received this past Christmas was this high-end cologne. When my bestower gives me the gift, she tells me that according to the sales associate, when I wear this cologne, I will leave my sillage everywhere I go.
I play it off like I know what sillage means, waiting for her to explain it to me. She explains that if I’m in a room wearing the cologne and then leave the room, my aroma will linger in the room I just left.
So, if people enter a room after me, they’ll know that I was there. Even though they wouldn’t be able to see me, my presence would still be there.
Just as I leave my sillage behind, so also God leaves God’s sillage behind.
Even though you may not be able to see God, God’s presence is still there. Even if you cannot sense God, God’s presence is still there.
No matter what you’re going through, God is with you.
