A couple years ago at my daughter’s track practice, I tell her, “If you run hard, I’ll get you ice cream at Chick-fil-A afterwards.”
She runs hard.
As soon as we get to Chick-fil-A, she heads to the bathroom. On her way to the bathroom, she turns around and says, “Daddy, make sure they put my ice cream in a cup.”
I answer, “Okay.”
But when I get to the register, I forget to tell them.
When she returns from the bathroom, I hand her a cone.
She says, “Daddy, what is this? I thought I told you I wanted my ice cream in a cup.”
I say, “Oh yeah! I forgot. . . . But it doesn’t matter. It’s still the same ice cream.”
So she walks up to the register.
I ask, “Where are you going?”
She says, “I’m going to tell them to put this in a cup!”
She knew what she wanted.
Do you know what you want God to do for you?
If you want your ice cream in a cup, don’t settle for a cone.
Somewhere, God has a cup just for you. Go get it.
