In his book There Is No Next, Sam Smith contends that Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time. For most of my life, this hasn’t even been a debate. It’s been understood.
But the older I get, the more I encounter younger LeBron James fans who believe this is a real debate. For a few members of my church, it’s a debate. For my daughter, it’s a debate. For my college students, it’s a debate.
Every week before the start of class, I debate with my students about who’s the greatest.
Nevertheless, although the greatness of a basketball player is up for the debate, can I tell you what isn’t up for debate?
There’s no debate over the awesomeness and greatness of God. There is no debate that God is great and greatly to be praised.
