Recently I was vacuuming the upstairs of my house. After I finished vacuuming my daughter’s room, I began to vacuum the floor of my office, which is adjacent to her room. But while I attempted to vacuum under my desk in my office, the vacuum cleaner couldn’t reach because the cord wasn’t long enough.
So in order for the vacuum cleaner to be effective in the next room, the cord needed to be disconnected from the previous room.
In a similar way, in order for you to move to the next level of your life, you may have to disconnect from some stuff on the previous level of your life.
What got you here may not get you there. And if you’re going to get from here to there, you may have to leave some stuff behind.
You may have to leave some habits, or ideas, or practices, or even some people behind. Everybody can’t go where the Lord wants to take you. Everybody can’t handle what the Lord wants to do in your life. Everybody’s not fit for the trip the Lord has planned for you.
